Tips For Planning the Perfect Baby Shower

Tips For Planning the Perfect Baby Shower

Congratulations on your pregnancy and how exciting that you are now planning a baby shower or maybe you have been tasked with organising one for a friend or relation.

So, where do you start?

Before you do anything else you must firstly decide on a theme for your event. This is sometimes driven by the gender of the baby or if not known a pastel pallet always works well.

A baby boy shower is often best when styled with pale blue as your base colour. This will team well with soft beige and cream or navy blue or silver or any contrasting secondary colour.

A baby girl shower is often best when styled with pale pink as your main colour. This will team well with hot pink and soft beige, white or soft green and rose gold tones.

If baby's gender is unknown, a soft beige pallet with creams, whites and soft golds works brilliantly or you can opt for a soft shades of green colour scheme, especially if it's a spring baby. If your event is taking place in the Autumnal months, maybe choose soft peach, gentle beige and gold tones to bring a sense of season to your party.

Alternatively you simply can't go wrong with an entirely pastel pallet of soft pinks, soft blues, lemon and lilac. These colours always work well and are very much associated with a cute little bundle of joy.

Once you have decided on your colour theme for the event, you then to decide if you are keeping just the block colours as your scheme or if you are introducing accents or animals to the arrangements. Think cute little woodland animals if you are opting for an Autumnal theme or maybe sweet baby elephants if you are think of a summer pallet.  Teddy bears are always a cute choice as are storks and ducks as well as adorable little jungle safari animals.

Next you need to tie some baby shower stationery in with your theme.  Stationery you will need may include

- baby shower invitations [printed or digital ones to send on your phone]

- baby shower welcome signs

- baby shower games and activities

Many of these can be personalised and styled along with your theme and often act as great ice breaking activities in a room where maybe people don't all know each other.

Along with your stationery, think about co-ordinating balloons, paper plates, napkins and floral arrangements to complete the look of your event.

Pinterest is often a great place to start looking and to 'magpie' ideas from.  Many mums to be are also inspired by different baby shower themes taken on by celebrity mums such as Georgia or Lucy!

Hopefully this has given you some great ideas for your forthcoming baby shower and all the team here wish you a fabulous day to celebrate with all those you love before your little bundle arrives.

Good luck mumma x
